Style Meets Safety: Bullard’s Vector Type II Cap Helmet with Class E and G Protection

Type II helmets provide enhanced protection compared to a Type I hard hat. Bullard’s Vector, Type II Cap style helmet provides both Class E and G protection as well as the look of a traditional hard hat with a list price of $50. Here are some benefits of a Type II helmet:

  •  Increased Impact Protection: Type II helmets provide protection against both top and lateral impacts. They are designed to reduce the force of an impact from falling objects and from the side. This also includes where swinging objects (such as hooks or chains) are a concern.
  • Electrical Insulation: Class E hard hats/helmets are rated for electrical protection up to 20,000 volts. This makes them suitable for use in environments where there is a risk of electrical shock.
  • Versatility: Type II helmets are suitable for a wide range of industrial and construction applications where both top and side impact protection are necessary. They are commonly used in areas where there is a risk of objects falling from above or where there is a potential for lateral impacts.
  • Compliance with Standards: Type II helmets are designed and tested to meet specific safety standards ensuring they provide a certain level of protection. It's important to choose a helmet that complies with relevant safety regulations. Bullard’s Vector is compliant with both the ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 and CSA Z94.1 standards.
  • Durability: These helmets are typically constructed with durable materials that can withstand harsh working conditions. This helps ensure a longer lifespan and better protection over time. Bullard’s Vector helmet is made of high-density Polyethylene.
  • Comfort and Fit: Many Type II helmets come with adjustable features to provide a secure and comfortable fit. This is important for workers who wear their hard hats for extended periods, as a comfortable fit encourages consistent usage. Bullard’s Vector includes a 4-point Flex-Gear® ratchet suspension with an EPS foam impact liner, providing a balance of comfort and protection.
  • High Visibility Options: Some Type II helmets come in high-visibility colors, which can enhance worker visibility on the job site. This is particularly important in environments with heavy machinery and potential hazards. Bullard’s Vector helmet is available in Hi-Viz Yellow and Hi-Viz Orange in addition to seven more color options.
  • Customization Options: Bullard offers customization options, allowing workers to add accessories such as face shields, earmuffs, and chin straps to enhance overall safety and comfort.
    • Using our “Build Your Bullard” tool, you can configure, customize and proof your personal protective equipment.
    • Bullard’s Vector works with a “quick attach” blade system enabling the worker to quickly deploy a 4” or 6” polycarbonate face shield.
    • When ordering a Vector with a chin strapped installed, the chin strap is tested to ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 standard.

It's important to note that while Type II helmets offer increased protection, selecting the right type of hard hat or helmet for a specific job or industry is crucial. Employers are encouraged to conduct risk assessments to determine the appropriate level of protection required for their workers. Additionally, workers should inspect their helmets regularly for signs of damage or wear and replace them as needed to ensure continued safety.
